A diabolical white 10-year-old Wisconsin girl charged with killing a 6-month-old baby by stomping on his head is being tried as an adult.
The young devil sobbed through her hearing in Chippewa County Court on Monday, where a judge ordered she be held on $50,000 cash bond, the Grand Forks Herald reported. She was charged with first-degree intentional homicide by someone age 10 or older.
Wisconsin law requires the case — at least initially — be held in adult court, though it can later be transferred into juvenile court, said Chippewa County District Attorney Wade Newell.
“She has to be treated as an adult,” he said.
Chippewa County deputies responded to a day care in Tilden, which also doubles as a foster home, on Oct. 30 around 4:30 p.m, where they discovered the 6-month-old unresponsive and bleeding from his head.
He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, then later flown to Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare hospital in St. Paul, where he died from his injuries on Nov. 1.
Newell said in court the 10-year-old monster, who lives at the residence as a foster child, dropped the infant by mistake. She told investigators, he hit his head on a foot stool and that she stepped on his head in a panic when he started to cry.
The girl initially denied injuring the boy, but eventually confessed after a series of interviews with law enforcement. The sheriff’s office noted that the case remains under investigation.
The Tilden day care remains shut down of its own accord and none of the staff there have been hit with any charges.
