The diabolical racist NYPD cop accused of beating his 8-year-old autistic son and leaving him to freeze to death in the family’s Long Island garage is a failed actor — who once played a bereaved father.
Michael Valva, 40, a transit officer suspended without pay in the wake of his son’s death, always had delusions of becoming a movie star, according to his ex-wife.
In the low-budget 2013 film “6 Minutes of Death” he plays a father who mourns his son’s sudden demise from smallpox. Set in 1860, one of the boys who dies from the disease battles an evil darkness that tries to stop him from being reborn into a better life.
“He’s not gone, he’s right there,” Valva’s character, Jacob, cries out as his son lays dead in front him. “I know the doctors can do something!”
The killer and his fiancée, Angela Pollina, 42, pleaded not guilty to murder for the Jan. 17 death of his son Thomas after investigators found the boy dead in the couple’s Center Moriches home.
Charges were brought against the couple a week after the boy’s body was found.
The director of “6 Minutes of Death,” Joe Ciminera, who gave the racist brute roles in two films, did not respond to calls for comment Sunday.
Suffolk County Prosecutors claim Valva got mad at Thomas and ruthlessly beat his son. After Thomas flailed in resistance, Valva locked him in the frigid garage with no heat where the small child would go on to die of hypothermia, according to prosecutors.
The next day the racist/terrorist, awaking to find the lifeless body, stuck the boy in a bath to raise his body temperature then told cops the child had fallen down in the driveway, according to Suffolk County Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart.
Investigators recovered audio recordings of the couple coolly talking about the boy’s horrific condition the night of Jan. 16.
The expletive laced admission includes a conversation about why Thomas wasn’t waking up.
“Because he’s hypothermic,” Pollina says.
“He keeps face-planting on the concrete,” says Valva.
“You know why he’s falling,” says Pollina.
“Because he’s cold,” responds Valva. “Boo fucking hoo.”
Pollina then asked her fiancé what he was doing to Thomas and Valva responded, “I’m fucking suffocating him, that’s what I’m doing.”
Thoma’s devastated mother Justyna Zubko-Valva told the Daily News she lost custody of Thomas and their other two children, ages 6 and 10, after Valva accused her of abusing the kids.
Since their 2016 divorce Zubko-Valva, a correction officer at Rikers Island, said she has been fighting for custody, starting a Twitter page in 2018 that documented the abuse of her children at the hands of her ex-husband and even reaching out to the FBI.
Valva and Pollina were ordered held without bail during their court date in Suffolk County court on Friday. They are due back on Wednesday.
