A 37-year-old woman and 17-year-old male face charges in Moore County after the sheriff's office said they were involved in the sexual assault of a child.
Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced Thursday his office received a tip about a child being sexually assaulted in the Seagrove area of the county.
Detectives, along with the South Mountain Moore County Child Advocacy Center, investigated the tip and learned the child was assaulted in April, the sheriff said.
On Wednesday, Angel Rose Brown, 37, of Seagrove was arrested and charged with one count of felony child abuse by allowing a sexual act to be committed and one count of misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Also on Wednesday, Ray Brown, 17, of Seagrove was arrested and charged with one count of felony first-degree statutory sex offense, one count of crimes against nature, and one count of felony indecent liberties with a child.
Angel and Ray Brown are each being held under a $75,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court May 23.
