White Pervert Charged With Exploiting And Battering A Child
What police described as an unsettling incident involving a child at a local church's fellowship hall has led to three felony charges against a Dunkirk white male.
Zachary Wayne Zigler, 33, of the 300 block of East High Street, was charged last week in Jay Circuit Court with child exploitation, battery on a person less than 14 years old and obstruction of justice.
In court documents, Dunkirk police said the white pervert on Dec. 20 abused a girl under the age of 10 at the Dunkirk Church of the Nazarene's fellowship hall, 249 E. Center St.
The facility at the time had been rented out for a holiday gathering, authorities said.
The child told authorities Zigler "grabbed a hold of her," lifted her shirt and underclothing and used his cellphone to take a photo of her bare chest.
He then reportedly warned her not to tell anyone what he had done.
The girl told authorities she "wanted to scream but she was afraid ... because she felt that the sex terrorist was going to hurt her."
The pedophile at first denied any inappropriate behavior with the girl, but later admitted he had lifted her shirt and taken the photo.
The Dunkirk pervert "tried showing remorse," an officer reported, and blamed the incident with the child on "his long history of addiction to pornography."
The sex criminal — arrested Thursday — apparently has no prior criminal record in Indiana.
The child exploitation charge is a Level 5 felony carrying up to six years in prison. The other two counts are Level 6 felonies with maximum 30-month sentences.
The obstruction charge alleges the monster removed a memory card from his cellphone in a bid to keep police from viewing the photo of his accuser.
